"Today I Saw a Feather Drop"

Today I saw a feather drop
Will its journey ever stop?
I never saw it touch the ground
Just fly away without a sound
It brushed the trees so withered, cold
and raced the wind sevenfold
It cradled right and left, so light
farther, farther, out of sight

Today I saw a feather drop
Will its journey ever stop?
Has it found its peace and calm
lying in somebody’s palm
or does it fly over the sea
and when it’s flown, where could it be?
Will it dance around the tower in France
or would it land in Japan by chance

Today I saw a feather drop
Does its journey have to stop?
It could travel all over the heavenly Earth
and see it for what it’s really worth
The water, trees, dirt, and skies
the cows, dogs, birds, and flies
All combine and form to one
a joyful journey under the sun
