"Salt of the Earth"
Over thousands of years,
Man rarely notices one woman,
Yet she consistently supports him.
Once he discovered that iron flowed under her skin,
He dug into her pores,
Cut her hair, and carved into her skin.
He did not realize the harm of his actions.
Slowly and painfully, he continues to torture Mother Earth,
Choking her with fumes and gases.
Her tears are slowly drying,
And the salt remains on the surface of her cracked skin.
Even as her hair slowly grows back,
He continues to trim it daily.
It is time to set her free from her suffering,
And start giving back.
Man can become Salt of the Earth,
By using his loving hands and open heart,
Over thousands of years.
