The Story of the Jesup Wagon
George Washington Carver, one of the pillars of C.H.E.R.'s Guiding Principles, was given the responsibility of taking the latest agricultural techniques out into the communities where people were working in the fields, to help improve their living conditions.
A New York philanthropist named Morris Jesup donated $400 to Carver and his students to build the wagon you see above.
Tuskegee still uses the "movable school" concept to outreach to the community in agricultural health and other human services today.
Our idea is to reverse that process, and use the trailer to bring nature back to the urban campuses where children will learn to look at the world in new ways.
